Who we reflect is who we trust
“So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation — if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
Have we indeed tasted and seen that the Lord is good?
If it is indeed good, does our life show it, and share it with others, no matter who the other is?
The Lord was and is good to all.
'so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,’ — Matthew 5:44-45
NO EXCUSES. IF JESUS DIED FOR ALL WHY DO WE NOT LOVE ALL, GIVE TO ALL, SHARE WITH ALL?
Have we sat in the presence of God long enough to continue to abide in Him?
Some honest questions to ask ourselves, why would we want anything else but to live in the purity of Christ if we have not tasted and seen of His goodness? What good has the world done for us? How many times have we depended on the world and it brought us joy, peace, answered our prayers? Call me or text me to let me know. From what I have seen in my personal life, I have never been satisfied by the world, I have been left empty, confused, broke when I could have used the money in such a way where the Lord would be pleased.
Psalms 34:8 we read, “Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the person who takes refuge in him!” Psalms 2:12 it reads, “Pay homage to the Son or he will be angry and you will perish in your rebellion, for his anger may ignite at any moment. All who take refuge in him are happy.” Psalms 5:11 reads, “But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them shout for joy forever. May you shelter them and may those who love your name boast about you. For you, Lord, bless the righteous one; you surround him with favor like a shield.”
Is he our refuge at all times? Even when the times look peaceful? There is never a moment where we are to come out of his covering. We are to abide in Him, we are to rest in Him. There are boundaries. In Him or outside of him. What does your life look like right now? Are you taking refuge in Him or in the fleeting pleasures of this world? How do you know where you're at?
WE SHOULD ALL DESIRE TO KNOW WHERE WE ARE AT WITH THE LORD.
ARE WE ONE WITH HIM OR ARE WE NOT? ARE WE HOT OR COLD?
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth. For you say, ‘I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I ADVISE you to buy from me gold refined in the fire so that you may be rich, white clothes so that you may be dressed and your shameful nakedness not be exposed, and ointment to spread on your eyes so that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be zealous and repent. 'See! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” — Revelation 3:15-19
We know where we are with Christ by our fruits.
How are we treating people?
Do we count our lives of no value and desire to only finish our purpose here on earth?
Is our desire to worship God alone?
Do I show malice or deceit?
Am I hypocrite? Am I living what I am saying to others, through conversation or even our Instagram/Facebook pages? What are we posting, what are we reposting?
What are we craving? Christ or are we craving what the person to our right and left have?
Am I slandering? Making false or damaging statements about someone?
Am I seeking the purity of God?
Are we riding ourselves of all that goes against God?
The only way to walk in such a way where the world snaps their neck at the sight of us or by having a conversation, is by living how he calls us too, holy, set apart, unashamed of the gospel. We need to live by faith and not by sight. We need to live in the knowing that this is not our home and we are here temporarily to show the light of Christ, to show why we rest our hope in Him and not in the fading of this world.
Ask yourself am I truly living redeemed, set free, full of nothing but His spirit, or am I living in such a way where no one would be able to say, “wow, they are solid, they stand on truth and are unashamed, they don’t fear what man can do to them but have placed their life?
I choose to live my life in such a way where my children see their daddy and mommy give it all for our savior Jesus, who gave himself fully so that we would be forgiven and set free. That they would see us live in such a way where our integrity is not being questioned or who we believe in but that they would see the light and joy of God shine through all that we do.
If we have indeed TASTED AND SEEN that the Lord is good then our lives MUST SHOW IT, REFLECT IT, PROCLAIM IT! Who we reflect is who we trust. If we trust the world, we will reflect all the flake that comes with the world, if we trust God, we will reflect His goodness, kindness, His grace and compassion, his joy and peace to all who enter into our circle.
There is no more time left, Jesus is coming back and we must ready at all times, are you ready and readying others?
“Those who enter the kingdom of God do so with unwavering devotion and urgency or not at all” — Joseph Anderson
